We want our leaders of tomorrow to be bright, confident and self-assured. We expect you to face up to responsibility. But we don’t expect you to do it alone. We’ll support you, encourage you and train you. Our graduate programmes combine theoretical and practical training along with real, hands on management experience.

Each programme is designed to last around 18 months. You’re then off and running – anything from a depot to a new acquisition. And your salary will increase in line with your levels of responsibility. Your salary progression will depend on your progress and your placement but we would expect you to be earning anything from £30K - £40K in your second year. It’s quite possible that your earnings would reach £45K - £65K in your third year. But ultimately, it’s up to you. The harder you work, the more you’re able to contribute, the more you’ll earn.

Everybody that joins us will complete our corporate induction programme along with Fire Safety and Personal Track Safety courses.

As an Operations-based graduate you will spend most of you time in your business unit following induction and initial training. You’ll also visit Head Office departments and other Business Units to ensure you get a fully rounded view of our company and our business. At the end of this varied and structured 9-month training programme you’ll be ready for your first management appointment and also be a competent train driver!
